Write the brief around a record somebody must be able to continue

A useful first brief identifies the customer action and the staff decision it creates. It does not need to choose the framework or describe every future screen.

Use a short statement such as: “A buyer changes the requested quantity after an offer is issued, and operations needs to know which revision was accepted.” That gives the discussion a record, a change and a receiving role.

Include the working context

Name the public starting point, current tools and people involved. State the relevant languages and devices. If a field worker needs to keep photographs through an interruption, describe that requirement directly rather than assuming it is included in the word “app.”

List the actual organization-owned provider accounts and the operation each would perform. Mark unconfirmed access or commercial eligibility as an open dependency. The accountant, language reviewer and other relevant specialists should be named where their decisions affect the implementation.

Define one observable result

Specify what the ordinary user and receiving staff member should see. Add a changed case and an unrelated record that must remain intact. A request saved, a payment confirmed and a document issued are different evidence, so say which result the first release is responsible for.

Include the target date only with the reason it matters. Separate a fixed business event from a preferred completion date and identify the support arrangement after release.

The planning sheet turns this outline into a worked record. Send a public URL and fictional example, leaving private exports and credentials for a separately arranged review if they become necessary.
