Rehearse the backup before you need the recovery

A backup list is reassuring, but it does not show that the business can recover. A useful rehearsal restores a representative copy privately and checks whether the important task works with the restored data.

Identify the moving parts

A Colombian organization's site may keep code, uploaded documents, database records and scheduled integrations in different places. A repository may contain only the code. List each component and the person responsible for its recovery.

Agree the recovery question

How much recent work could the business lose, and how long can the process be unavailable? Those answers shape the backup frequency and rehearsal. They should come from the operation rather than a default setting in a hosting panel.

Inspect the restored result

Use a private environment with external messages and payments disabled. Check login, a representative record, a supplied file and the relationship between them. Record missing dependencies. Protect access to the restored data just as carefully as production.

CISA's ransomware guide includes backup and recovery planning among its recommendations. It does not certify a particular setup. We can scope a recovery review with your hosting owner and agree a practical rehearsal before changing the live application.
