Diagnose a slow catalog on the phone your buyers use
A catalog that feels fast on an office computer can be frustrating on a phone. Begin with a realistic buyer journey: open a category, compare two products and send a request. Measure that path before deciding the platform is the problem.
Choose representative pages
For a Colombian distributor, include a category with many products, a detailed product page and the inquiry form. Test the language version customers actually use. Record the device and connection conditions so later comparisons mean something.
Look beyond the first load
A large hero image can delay visible content, but a filter that freezes after a tap is a different problem. Images without reserved dimensions can move the inquiry button while someone is trying to select it. Heavy third-party tools may affect every page.
Connect the finding to the task
Ask what the slow step prevents: reading a specification, selecting a variant or completing an inquiry. Fix and retest one meaningful issue rather than collecting a list of impressive scores. A laboratory result does not describe every visitor's experience.
Google's Web Vitals overview explains loading, interaction and visual-stability measures. Use them alongside actual task testing. A focused performance investigation should produce affected pages, likely causes and an agreed improvement check, rather than an unsupported promise of a perfect score.
