Compare a form repair with replacement after finding the lost location value
A fictional service business receives enquiries with a department but no municipality, even though customers selected both. The team initially proposes replacing the website platform. Inspection shows a smaller, identifiable defect.
Inspect the same request at three points
The phone form displays the selected pair correctly. Request I-36 is saved without its municipality because the submission mapper reads an obsolete field name. The current platform supports the required fields and the business has authorized source access. The staff application also supports the complete pair.
The limitation is therefore a specific mapping, not an inability to store Colombian locations. The team must still confirm that its location model and permitted values fit the business; this fixture does not define a universal address format.
Compare the work against the required outcome
A repair updates the mapper, preserves the selected department and municipality and adds a receiving check. A replacement would recreate the same form, migrate pages and URLs, configure the staff connection and repeat the receiving review.
The fictional organization selects the bounded repair because it resolves the demonstrated failure within an otherwise maintainable platform. Replacement has no additional necessary capability established by this evidence.
Verify the result and a different location
In the isolated preview, I-36 retains the approved department–municipality pair through display, submission and staff review. The reviewer changes the department and selects a valid municipality under the fixture's model, then confirms that the receiver reflects the new pair rather than a stale selection.
Control enquiry I-37 belongs to a different location and service. Its stored pair and service routing remain unchanged. The correction does not insert I-36's municipality as a default for every enquiry.
The handover records the actual field names, mapping change and receiving evidence. A later replacement decision would need a demonstrated constraint, such as an essential operation the platform cannot support or an ownership problem that cannot be resolved appropriately.
Use website development for the customer journey and integration review for the receiving boundary. The useful comparison is between ways to satisfy the same task, including the transition work a rebuild introduces.
